WHITEFISH BAY FORENSIC INVITATIONAL
Congressional Debate on Friday 3/8; Speech events on Saturday, 3/9

If we fill to capacity as we did last year, entries will be waitlisted and accepted as spots become available.

ENTRIES: A team's top 25 entries - and a maximum of a school’s four best entries in a single category will count toward team sweepstakes. Double/triple entries allowed in all events besides Group Discussion. 2 buildings are used; we offer a shuttle to WFB Middle School which is within walking distance.

 

ENTRY FEES: $9/each single entry. $15/each Play Acting, Duo Interp, or Group Interp entry.

 DEADLINES:

Friday, 3/1 at Noon: Entry fees & Judge obligations freeze
Thursday,3/7 at Noon: Entries closed.  Last chance for drops and name changes.  Be sure to add your judge names as well!

Dropped entries after noon on Friday, 3/1 do NOT reduce judge or payment obligations.

JUDGES: One (1) well-trained judge for each five (5) entries, or fraction thereof. Hired judges for $125. Remind your judges that they’re obligated through finals and may judge Oratorical Declamation. Schools with more than 10 judges might be asked to hire their remaining judges from the tournament or to have clean judges, or a combination of both.

AWARDS: Medals to finalists. Trophies to: top three in each event, top five large schools based on sweepstakes, top three small schools based on quality points. Triathlon Award to top three triple-entered students. Students must compete in one interp + one speech category to be eligible. We ask all teams join us at awards to crown our top students. Results will be available after awards on tabroom.com and also e-mailed to all head coaches. Packets and trophies will not be mailed.

RULES: WFCA rules will be followed--available at wfcaforensics.org. Rules for the NCFL category of Oratorical Declamation are at http://bit.ly/g8Ko2b. Please brief your judges on the rules of all categories. Remind your judges that they should never leave a room before all scheduled students have performed unless tab room has been consulted. Oratorical Declamation entries must be 9th or 10th graders ONLY.

FOOD: Snacks for sale in the Rotunda. Lunch for students in the basement cafeteria. Judges eat free in the lounge. Before you ask--yes, we’ll again have our famous egg rolls served fresh!

MISC: Coaches will receive copies of some of their judges’ ballots. Please ensure you follow street parking ordinances as posted and do not block the street in front of the Fairmount Ave.  main entrance - this is where our shuttle bus will stop.

The Bay Bowl
Nominations are now open for the Bay Bowl Award, which is presented to one coach each year who has demonstrated outstanding leadership at the Whitefish Bay Tournament. Coach must be present at the tournament to be eligible. Send a nominating biography of 300 words or less, written in the third-person, to shawn.matson@gmail.com. Nominations are kept anonymous and are due by the morning of the tournament.
