Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We are pleased to announce the first El Camino Big Questions Tournament, at El Camino Real Charter High School in Woodland Hills, California. The event will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2019. We will offer one open division in Big Questions Debate.

Judges:

We are requiring 1 judge per two entries, or any fraction thereof. This means if you have 3 entries you are required to bring two judges.  The fee for uncovered entries will be $80.

*** Judges must have a device that is able to access the Internet.***

Schedule:  (Subject to change based on entries)

Registration 8:00-8:30

Judges Orientation: 8:30- 9:00

Round 1: 9:15- 10:15

Round 2: 10:30-11:30

Round 3: 11:45- 12:45

Lunch: 12:45-1:30

Survey/Assembly Breaks 1:30-1:45

Octos (Top 16) 2:00-3:00

Quarters (Top 8) 3:15-4:15

Sems:(Top 4) 4:30- 5:30

Finals: 5:45- 6:45

Deadlines:

Registration will close at 11:59 PST on February 17th. Please have all entries in by this time. Any changes beyond this deadline will result in late fees.

Fees:

Entrance fees will be $10 per entry. We strongly encourage team entries, (which makes the fee $5 per person). If you would like to be a maverick entry please email ecrspeechanddebate@gmail.com for special permission.  Please make checks payable to ECRCHS Speech & Debate.

Food:

We will be selling baked goods, candies, snacks, drinks, and pizza on campus. Please patronize our food sales by staying on campus during breaks. Judges will be provided with meals.

Address & Directions:

The tournament is located at El Camino Real Charter High School.  The address is: 5440 Valley Circle Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91367.

The easiest way to arrive at El Camino is to take the 101 freeway.  Get off the freeway at exit 29, Valley Circle, and head north.  Drive for about one mile and the school should be on the right hand side of the street.
