Debate Topics and Topic Areas

1. All debates will utilize the currently published topics from TFA/NSDA for the month of November.

2. STUDENT CONGRESS: We will use the Region 4 Congress Scaffold as follows:

i. Prelims 21-25; order 23, 25, 21, 24 and 22

ii. Semis 26-30 (if needed); order 30, 26, 28, 27 and 29

iii. Finals 1-5; order 3, 1, 5, 4 and 2

3. WORLD SCHOOLS DEBATE: (Expectation at this time)

i. Round 1: This House prefers conditional foreign aid to unconditional aid.

ii. Round 2: This House believes that the environmental rights of future generations supersede the economic interests of current generations.

iii. Round 3: Impromptu Motion

iv. Semis: This House regrets the dominance of the two-party system in American politics.

v. Finals: Impromptu Motion

Should WSD break straight to Finals, we will use the Prepared Semis motion noted above.

4. Extemporaneous and Impromptu Speaking

a. DX - (in order of rounds): Social Issues, Politics, and Economy

b. FX - (in order of rounds): Europe, Asia, and Latin America

c. NX - (in order of rounds): Education, Technology, and Economy

d. Impromptu - (in order of rounds): Choices, Quotations, and Technology
