Dear Coaches,
The Kaplan High School Speech and Drama Team cordially invites you to the 22nd annual Kaplan Contraband Classic. Our tournament will take place on February 2nd and 3rd , 2018. We are very excited to be able to offer the following events: Original Oratory, Declamation, Student Congress, We will also have the following events, which will be broken into Junior and Senior events: Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Oral Interpretation, Extemporaneous Speaking, Duet Acting, and Jr.Duo Reading and Sr. Duo Interp.
As always, I am a bit concerned with room availability. I hope we will be able to accommodate each school and their perspective entries. If the need should arise, we may have to limit school entries in events. Please make your students aware of this. I should know Wednesday evening what those numbers look like and will email coaches if limiting entries is necessary.
**Please Note: Students are allowed two entries per flight. Hopefully, this will help with Cross Entries and help the tournament to run smoothly.**
***New February Docket will be used for Congress***
We are making an effort to involve our community, therefore the majority of the judges will be community judges. However, we would prefer using experienced judges for final rounds. Entry fees will be standard.
The deadline to drop and add for this tournament without penalty, will be Thursday Feb. 1st, at 12:00 p.m.
