How to get my vote- Tell me WHY I should vote for you. Please don't assume that I will grasp any argument made; I won't, so explain them. I enjoy it when the debater is persuasive and can stay calm and collected. Of course, debate to the best of your ability; stand confidently and do your best.

Speaker Points-I will give points if you follow the other aspects mentioned. I don't want a rude or condescending tone. MAKE SURE TO BE RESPECTFUL to everyone in the round, whether that's a spectator or your opponent. DO NOT say anything racist, sexist, ableist, or homophobic. I WILL down speaker points and give you the worst possible speaker points I can give. Debate well and be confident. Explain everything in your argument, and you will get better points.

I have a lot of experience competing in speech and interp events (OO, INFO, POI, DI, DUO/DUET), since I did it throughout my high school years.

BE YOURSELF!!!!! (Speech + Debate)

What I look for in speech (OO/INFO):

1) Natural + Captivating way of speaking/good flow of speech

2) Good structure

3) Cite Sources

4) Fluency in speech

****I generally really like speeches that show me who you are (passion and personality!!)… anyone can remember and recite a 10 min written speech, show me that it is YOU who is giving it and not just anyone else.

What I look for in INTERP:

1) Good blocking

2) Expressive

3) POI: good weaving of pieces

4) Good cutting of piece

Debate:

• no spreading
• be respectful!!!!
• keep track of your own time/your opponent
• I like when you show me the impact (severity) of your argument
• i like concrete evidence, no hypotheticals
• weigh your arguments against your opponents
