Information

EVENTS
a. Section A: Extemporaneous Speaking, Humorous Interpretation, Duet Acting, Poetry Interpretation, Informative Speaking
b. Section B: Impromptu Speaking, Original Oratory, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Prose Interpretation, Program Oral Interp
c. Congress may not cross-enter in Section B.
d. Debaters may not cross-enter in any other event.
e. Unlimited cross-entries are otherwise allowed, but the tournament will not be responsible for missed rounds.

ENTRIES
a. Make all entries using this website.
b. Students competing in person must be accompanied by an adult.
c. Entries must represent a school or organization (no independent entries).
d. A novice is defined as anyone who has not competed in high school forensics prior to this school year.
e. JV is defined as any 2nd year HS debater (or younger)

TOPICS & RULES
a. We will follow Texas Forensic Association IQT event & tabulation rules as closely as possible:https://www.txfa.org/constitution; however, we ask for understanding as not every question will fit neatly into this set of rules.
b. Lincoln-Douglas debate will use the NSDA topic for January/February.
c. Cross-Examination debate will use the NSDA Topic.
d. Public Forum debate will use the NSDA April topic.
e. Congress Docket and World Schools Prepared Motions will be announced ASAP.
f. Impromptu will offer 7 minutes total to draw, prep, and speak.
g. Prose and Poetry have 7 minutes total to speak, with 30 seconds grace.
h. Declamation will follow NSDA guidelines.

JUDGING
a. Panels will be used in elimination rounds whenever possible.
b. Varsity debaters with at least 250 NSDA points may judge.
