Speech/Debate Schedule

 

7:45-8:15 Registration- all entries must be checked in by 8:15 or they will be dropped.

 

8:30- LD Round 1, Prose/Poetry Round 1 Category A

9:30- LD Round 2, Prose/Poetry Round 2 Category B

11:00- Draw

11:30- Info/Persuade Round 1

12:30- Draw

1:00- Info/Persuade Round 2

2:00- LD Round 3, Prose/Poetry Round 3/Finals (Reader’s Choice)

3:00- Draw

3:30- Info/Persuade Round 3/Finals

 

CX

8:30- Round 1

10:30- Round 2

12:30- Round 3

2:30- Round 4

 

Speech events will feature either a 3rd prelim or a final round based on numbers. Competitors not advancing to finals will still be invited to a practice round for feedback.

 

LD and CX standings will be based on:

  1. Total wins
  2. Total points
  3. Total ranks (CX only)
  4. Points, minus high/lo
  5. Head to head (if applicable)
  6. Random draw

 

Judges:

  • 1 judge per 2 LDers (or fraction thereof)
  • 1 judge per 6 speech entries (or fraction thereof)
  • 1 judge per 2 CX teams (or fraction thereof)

 Students in CX may not enter any other event. 
Students in LD may not enter Prose/Poetry. 
Students may only enter one Extemp event. 
Students may only enter one Interp event. 

Judges in CX cannot cover other obligations. Judges in LD can cover speech entries, but it will be a busy day for them.
