Tournament Information

Greetings Middle Level Directors, Coaches, and Admins!

The Bloomfield Hills High School Forensic Team Seniors and I cordially invite you to attend the Black Hawks Middle Level Forensics IE Invitational being held at our high school on Saturday, December 7^th. This will be a great opportunity for students to build on skills developed at the MIFA workshop/tournament event on 11/23 and/or another chance for students to present their performance material in a competition environment. This is an OPEN Invitational tournament and does not require MIFA membership to register.

We are offering a full 3-round day of competition for all Middle Level students grades 5-8 (as applicable to your school) with adjudication. All 14 MIFA Middle Level Individual Events categories will be offered (there will be no split 5/6-7/8 divisions, all grades will compete in the same category) and we will follow current MIFA guidelines as outlined in Speech Activities and related documents. (Limited Prep prompts will follow similar themes used at the MIFA 11/23 event)

Registration is OPEN and will take place on tabroom.com – all participating judges/students must have a tabroom.com (free) account to participate. Let me know if you have any questions/issues with taking care of that – there is a tutorial on the MIFA website for reference.

Cost of entry is $5 per individual student, $10 per Duo, $15 per Multiple with no per-school entry fee. Awards will be presented onsite for the top 6 contestants in each event.

Tentative schedule:

8:00-8:30AM – Registration (Main Entrance)

8:30 AM – Judge Meeting / General Contestant/Coach Meeting (Commons)

9:00 AM – Round 1 (1 judge)

10:15 AM – Round 2 (1 judge)

11:30AM-12:30PM – Lunch

1:00 PM – Round 3 (2 judges)

3:00 PM – Awards Ceremony (Commons)
