Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to welcome you to our TFA Qualifier hosted collaboratively between Dallas ISD and the Dallas Urban Debate Alliance.

Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet, located at Yvonne A. Townview Center, is one of the top-ranked public schools in the state of Texas and the nation. The Dallas Urban Debate Alliance is the second largest UDL in the country. Together they are offering four TFA events on December 13-14: Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Policy Debate, World Schools Debate, and Informative Speaking.

We are also proud to host a Mock Trial competition.

Our event will have several unique components:

*We are avoiding having our guests deal with Dallas traffic on a Friday afternoon

*Informative Speaking will be ASYNCHRONOUS

*LD Debate will be FULLY ONLINE BOTH DAYS

*Policy and WS Debate will be ONLINE FRIDAY NIGHT AND IN-PERSON ON SATURDAY

*The debate divisions will be VARSITY level, but there will be novice breakouts in elims IF NUMBERS WARRANT

*Entry numbers will be restricted and judge requirements will be enforced.

*It is the intent of the host, JBS Law Magnet, to fully participate in this tournament.

Cindi Timmons, the Executive Director of the Dallas Urban Debate Alliance and experienced TFA tournament director, will be leading tournament preparation, assisted by Kris Wright, long-time coach and founder of the Texas Debate Collective. Our school host is Magnet Program Coordinator, Don Gonzalez. Our experienced Tabroom team will be led by TFA Region 2 Representative and Team Texas WS Debate coach, Jennifer Melin..
