We will be using the topics selected by the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) For Lincoln Douglas, Public Forum, and Cross Examination Debate. We will not use the Novice topic or UIL topic for LD debate
Lincoln-Douglas Debate – 2025 January/February Topic
Resolved: The United States ought to become party to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and/or the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
Public Forum Debate – 2025 January Topic
Resolved: The African Union should grant diplomatic recognition to the Republic of Somaliland as an independent state.
Policy Debate – 2024-2025 Topic
Resolved: The United States federal government should significantly strengthen its protection of domestic intellectual property rights in copyrights, patents, and/or trademarks.
For Student Congress, we will use legislation selected by the Texas Forensics Association. The following dockets will be used for the rounds stated. The docket order is set and locked.
Prelims: 12,11, 14, 15, 13
Finals: 20, 18, 19, 17, 16
Semis: if needed: 5, 2, 1, 4, 3

Round 1 - Impromptu
Round 2 - This House believes that social media activism has done more harm than good to the feminist movement.
Round 3 - As the United States government, this House would remove the ban on using affirmative action policies in higher education admissions.
Semis - This House believes that state capitalism is a more effective economic model than liberal capitalism for promoting long-term national development and economic stability.
Finals: Impromptu
