Additional remarks: Although I have experience in progressive debate, I prefer traditional, especially at NSDA nationals. That isn’t to say I don’t appreciate the arguments in progressive debate, but they should be formatted in the traditional style. Every argument should link back to framework. I evaluate the debate as to who best links to the framework. If you do that for me, we will all be happy. Weighing impacts and crystallization are very important. Be clear about your advocacy and your arguments. Extend arguments with claim, warrant, and impact. Consolidate the round to its key issues and show me what matters. Signpost!
