Additional remarks:

It will be very hard for me to vote for a debater who goes off-topic. This includes most ks, counterplans, etc. I will always favor the debater using their limited speaking time to try and have a substantive discussion about the actual resolution. The burden of proof belongs on the AFF, and to win my ballot the NEG most often has to either (1) defend the status quo, or (2) argue strongly that the resolution would make the status quo worse. Arguing that we should do something else instead of the resolution will make it very difficult for me to vote for you unless you do a lot of analytical groundwork here, because what I'm voting on is this resolution, not some magical future resolution.

This is not to say that I just want to hear stock cases. Creative arguments are a plus. They just have to be on-topic.

Meta-analysis of debate or otherwise completely off-topic ks are all but an automatic loss from me.

Note: if you wish for your pronouns to appear the debaters you judge on text/email blasts, log into Tabroom, click Profile at top, and add them in the Pronouns field.
