Impromptu Speaking
Maximum 6 Minutes Preparation and Performance Time
Individual event; improvised piece. In the performance room, performers will randomly “draw” three different quotations and choose one to interpret into their performance. The performance should be original and relatable to the audience. Performers should use voice, facial expressions, and body language to establish the purpose of their speech. Performers must stand, but movement is limited to a three-foot space. Note to judges: when one performer concludes her performance, the next competitor will enter the room, draw, and his six minutes begin.
