SATURDAY EVENT: FREE OPEN MIC WITH PANELISTS FROM BREAKING BAD, THE BIG SICK, AND MORE!

SATURDAY 2/6 FROM 1PM - 2:30PM (MT)

NMSDF has been supporting NM's students with open mics for asynchronous tournaments this year.  Our goal is to provide a space for students to perform for one another and learn from seeing each other's pieces.  We know that one of the best ways to grow your speech is to witness the work of others', and we hope that the open mic provides a forum for you to share your work and grow both your talent and your community!

NSMDF Open Mics are paneled by volunteer artists and coaches.  Students may request or decline feedback from panelists after they perform.  All teaching artists are here to support the students and offer oral feedback designed to help them hone in on their strengths and make the most of their 10 minutes on screen!

THE GUEST PANELISTS FOR THE CHILE BOWL OPEN MIC ARE...

Merritt Glover of Breaking Bad, Get Shorty, Longmire, and more! Merritt has taught improv for stage and screen and supported Speech and Debate students through workshops in the past.  She has fostered her love of acting on the stage and is deftly skilled at adapting the art form for the camera!

Lawrence Ballard of The Big Sick, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Veep!, and more! Lawrence is a professor of acting at Pace University in NY.  In addition to his successful and varied career on stage and on film, Lawrence specializes in teaching musical theater students how to connect with an audience on film.

Ron Weisberg of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot; Midnight, Texas; Enter the Dojo, and more!  Ron is a creator of films, screenplays, and audiobooks, and has appeared in over 50 film and television shows.  He is the owner of Sol Acting Studios where he inspires actors and artists to "do it yourself."  He hopes you discover the action you need to take, and take it.
