2021 Gabrielino Screamin’ Eagles
Invitational Speech Tournament
"GAB GAB GAB"
August, 2021
Dear Friends,
You are cordially invited to the 5th Annual Screamin' Eagles Speech Tournament.
Our goal is to give your students a good opportunity to perform and watch speeches in the safest and most effective way.
This tournament is open to all high school degree-granting institutions.
We are NOT accepting independent entries
We will offer three rounds and a final in all California H.S. speech events: Oratory, Informative, Advocacy, Extemp, Impromptu, Drama, Humor, POI, OPP, Oratorical and Duo in both Varsity and Novice Divisions.
A NOVICE student is any competitor in their first year of high school speech competition.
The first three rounds will be judged asynchronously by judges watching the videos submitted by students.
The Novice final rounds will also be judged asynchronously.
Recording procedures are listed HERE
Duo / Extemp / Impromptu info HERE
The Varsity final rounds will be held LIVE, in person, in either our auditorium or our large multipurpose room on campus. We will be running 1 event in each location at a time.
SAFETY NOTE:
- Our theater has a large garage door behind the stage. For the first time in the theater's 19 year history, live performances will be going on the stage with the garage door open.
- All doors will be open (except the emergency exits) in both venues to provide, clean and fresh air.
- Multiple large, medical grade air purifiers will be in both venues.
- Five students will perform in each final round.
- The final round will be clean slate scores.
- At the conclusion of each final round, the five competitors will receive their awards.
- A brief intermission will take place in between each round so fans can be turned on to provide even more air circulation.
