Greybull and Burlington Forensic Challenge

2024 — Greybull, WY/US

The Greybull and Burlington Speech & Debate teams would like to welcome you to the Greybull/Burlington Forensic Challenge. We are excited to be hosting again and adding Burlington as a partner for this endeavor. However, because of a small judging pool and space imitations we are having to limit the number of entries. We will allow wait listed entries and will make every effort to get these into the tournament, but be aware that some entries may not get in. Please keep this in mind when entering your competitors.

With the Wind River District tournament following ours, we will be allowing some of our students to compete in rounds to stay practiced before districts. However, these students will be pulled from finals should they advance that far and will not be considered for any team sweepstakes or individual awards.

Once again, this year's Forensic Challenge will be an individual events tournament. We will however be offering a chamber of Congressional Debate as an alternative. We will NOT be offering any LD, PF or CX debate and apologize to those teams that were planning on those events.

This change will shift the event patterns slightly so we can offer four events per pattern. We will offer 4 rounds and finals in each event. Students may double in each pattern, though entries in extemporaneous speaking may see some loss of prep time in they double in that pattern. Patterns will include:

HOPE (Pattern A): Humor, Oratory, Poetry, Extemporaneous, Congress

D Events (Pattern B): Drama, Duo, POI, Informative

Medals will be provided to all finalists. Team sweepstakes awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in a small school division (1A/2A) and a large school division (3A/4A) according to WHSAA enrollment numbers. We hope this will maximize the number of schools that might bring home some recognition. We will also again be offering some special recognition awards associated with the tournament theme.

We look forward to hosting you!
