Cabot Classic

2022 — NSDA Campus, AR/US

Virtual Tournament Updates

As we transition into the virtual Cabot Classic Invitational competition, we’ve created this information to highlight changes and to bring specific information to your attention -

We will host all the original stated events (including improv) with the exception of Readers Theatre and Words and Music. All events will be held live at the Cabot Classic. There will be no video submissions.

We’ve updated the schedule on Tabroom based on the adjustments of events and NSDA Campus Rooms. We have added 2 prelim rounds of IEs for high school to Friday to increase the competitive experience for students.

Competitors and judges, as with all virtual competition, will need to be at their rounds 15 minutes prior to their respective rounds. Students who fail to be at tech check risk forfeiture from the rounds. This will be strongly enforced.

With the transition to virtual, we will have to implement judge requirements for each school. These costs are reduced from last year's Cabot Classic. High School Debate (including congress) will owe 1 Judge per 5 Entries with a missing fee of $20. High School Forensics will owe 1 Judge per 10 Entries with a missing fee of $20. Junior High Debate (including congress) will owe 1 Judge Per 10 Entries with a missing fee of $10. Junior High Forensics will owe 1 Judge Per 10 Entries with a missing fee of $10

We will utilize qualified high school students in junior high divisions. You are welcome to add students to cover judging for junior high divisions. Please mark “high school student” in the notes on Tabroom.

Due to the global pandemic, we will not be implementing drop fees for the tournament. Drops should be communicated in a timely manner. Since we will be purchasing NSDA Campus rooms, we won’t be able to accommodate late additions after the registration deadline. Name changes are preferred over drops.

Duo Interpretation and Duet Improv will be held live on NSDA Campus. Students need to utilize the same device for their performance and perform side by side. Keep this in mind when registering students for their events.
