SPEECH & DEBATE TOURNAMENT

REGISTRATION: Your completed registration is due online TABROOM.COM no later than 4:00 pm, Friday, October 29th. Registration opens on Monday, October 17th at 8:00am under the tournament named Kalispell Kickoff. http://kalispellkickoff.tabroom.com/

ENTRIES: We will offer all of the AA Speech & Debate events. Speech students may double enter. We ask that all “ABC” entries use the “AA” rules in all events.

There will be no limit on your total entries, however no more than 4 per event will be counted towards sweepstakes. For teams with more than 4 in an event, JV entries will be confirmed via email on Monday, October 31st.

FEES: Each team will be charged a $10 team fee and each entry will be charged a $5 entry fee. There will be a $5.00 charge for all drop/adds made after October 31st.

REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION: ALL TEAMS must confirm registration by texting, calling or emailing by 7:00 am on November 5th. Please make drops before you board your bus!

COACHES/JUDGES: All schools are encouraged to bring judges (coaches, parents, bus drivers, graduated students). Coaches may be used to judge a variety of events. This tournament is made possible with your efforts and help!

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE: ALL EVENTS AT FHS

SPEECH & LEGI DEBATE: In speech and legi events, we will have three preliminary rounds, semifinals (top 16) and finals (top 8). There will NOT be a drop score used. Extemp draw will be 30 minutes prior to each round.

DEBATE: In debate rounds, we will have four preliminary rounds, and a final “championship” round that will feature #1 versus #2 and #3 versus #4.

CONCESSIONS: Concessions MAY be available, depending on whether or not there is an athletic event in the gym. Breakfast snacks and lunch will be provided for all coaches.

AWARDS: Awards Assembly will be at 7:00 pm in the FHS Auditorium Medals and certificates will be given to the finalists in every event. Sweepstake trophies will be given to the top three teams in “AA,” “A,” and “BC”.
