GISA State Debate Tournament

GISA STATE PUBLIC FORUM DEBATE TOURNAMENT

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
GISA Member Schools may enter ONE two-person team.

JUDGING QUALIFICATIONS:
Each school is asked to bring one experienced debate judge. If your school cannot provide a debate judge, the charge to hire a judge is $125.

Training to judge debate rounds can be found on the National Speech & Debate Association website.

ENTRY FEE:
$75 per school
GISA will send an Invoice to your school upon receipt of your registration.

Schools can pre-purchase Chick-fil-A meals for lunch or bring their own lunch.

DEBATE TOPIC:
Students will debate the National Speech & Debate Association January 2024 Public Forum Debate Topic.


Resolved: The United States federal government should repeal Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

SCHEDULE:
All Debates will take place in the Ivy Street Center at Marist School.

9:00 am: Check-In
9:30 am: Round 1
11:15 am: Round 2
12:30 pm: LUNCH
1:30 pm: Round 3
3:00 pm: Awards Ceremony
