Dear UIL Coordinator/Sponsor:

Tyler Legacy High School would like to cordially invite you to our 1st Annual Tyler Legacy Raiders Friendsmas Classic. This UIL academic meet will be held Saturday December 9, 2023.

EVENTS: All UIL academics events. All academic tests are from 3rd party vendors. Speech and Debate events will not be offered.

REGISTRATION: Please register atwww.tabroom.comfor all academic events.

DEADLINES: All entries are due online by Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 5:00 PM. You may change names after this date, BUT drops made after Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 5:00 PM will result in the loss of your entry fee.

JUDGING: You must supply a grader for every event in which your school is entered. If you do not provide a grader your students will not be graded. For Writing Events, you must provide 1 judge for every 6 participants or part thereof. For writing events, if you have no judge your student may compete, but they will not be graded. Please contact us ahead of time if this is a problem.

ENTRY FEES:

All Events: $10

AWARDS: Medals will be awarded for the top 6 places in each event. Sweepstakes awards will be given to the top performing schools based on the UIL point system for both big and small school events. In Science, awards will be given for the top scores in each grade, top score in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and overall 1st-6th place. In all Math events, awards will be given for the top score in each grade, as well as the overall 1st-6th places. We will also present awards in big and small school categories for all events.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Computer Applications: Schools must provide their own computers and printers.

Ready Writing/Journalism: You must provide a grader for your students. Your students will not be graded if you do not provide a judge. Computers will be provided; however, students may use laptops in both writing competitions. Schools must provide their own power cords and printers if they use their own computers.

Science: We will follow the UIL Calculator rules for the science test. The only allowed calculators are the:

HOSPITALITY ROOM: A coaches and judges hospitality room will be provided. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be served. A concession stand will be available in the cafeteria for students.
