Cosby High School Scrimmage

2023 — Midlothian, VA/US

Cosby High School is proud to host an in-person speech and debate scrimmage on Wednesday, November 1st from 5:30—8:00pm. Our scrimmage will be a quick exhibition where students will be able to compete in various VHSL categories of speech and debate. While we will not declare overall “winners” at this scrimmage, participants and coaches will get feedback on the ballots. This is a particularly good opportunity for students newer to speech and debate. This is also an excellent opportunity for judge training!

The Topics are as follows:

Lincoln-Douglas

Resolved: The United States ought to prohibit the extraction of fossil fuels from federal public lands and waters.

Public Forum

Resolved: The United States federal government should forgive all federal student loan debt.

Student Congress

Resolutions will be provided by Monday October 16th.
