Cedar Ridge High School is proud to invite you to our first annual UIL Academics and Speech and Debate invitational! We will have all Academic and Speech and Debate Events! Our Hospitality Room will be fully stocked! High achievers will walk away with awards to highlight their success! Our school is easy to get to, and is easy to navigate while looking for your next competition room. We will use TAB Room for all registration and to manage all Speech and Debate rounds. Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you all in January! We will be using UIL Set A materials.

  • Individual Awards

    • 1st through 3rd placed individuals in each event will receive a medal.

    • 4th through 6th placed individuals in each event will receive a ribbon.

  • Team Awards (only for Academics events with teams)

    • 1st and 2nd place teams in each event will receive a trophy.
      The top 3 scorers for these teams will also receive a medal.

    • Note you must have at least 3 students in the same school to qualify for a team score in an event.

  • School Awards: The top 3 schools will each receive a sweepstakes trophy.

Entry Fees:

School Custodial Fee - $30.00 per school

CX Debate - $40.00 per entry

LD Debate - $25.00 per entry

Individual Event - $15.00 per entry

Academic Event - $15.00 per entry

Missing Debate Judge Fee - $150.00 per judge

Missing IE Judge Fee - $125.00 per judge

Missing High Needs Academic Judge - $75.00 per judge (Mandatory Fee for Entries to pay for neutral graders)

**Any school who has not completed the payment process after 30 days of the tournament is subject to a $100.00 late fee.**

JUDGING REQUIREMENTS:

CX Debate - 1 judge for every 2 entries or portion thereof

LD Debate - 1 judge for every 4 entries of portion thereof

IEs* - 1 judge for every 6 entries or portion thereof

High Needs Academic Event** - 1 judge for every 3 entries or portion thereof

*If you have a judge that is only qualified to judge some of the individual events, please indicate this in the notes section of the entry along with what events that are qualified for. If there is no note present, we will assume that the judge is qualified for all IEs and they will be placed in all pools.

**The following events are considered HIGH NEEDS: Ready Writing, and, Journalism. We ask that schools bring judges for any academic event that they have entries in, but we desperately need judges in these events in order to ensure that the tournament runs on time.
