Hello, Speech and Debate Community!

The Cherokee High School Speech and Debate Team would like to invite you to our campus the night of Friday, February 16th, for three rounds of Big Questions Debate. Information about this debate style can be found here https://www.speechanddebate.org/big-questions/ and if you need resources to help you get started, please reach out to us.

Entry fee for each student/duo is $20, and you will be required to bring one judge for every two entries you have. An entry can be one student or a two student duo as the Big Questions Debate format allows for this. If you cannot bring your required judges, a fee of $90 per missing required judge will be assessed on your invoice. You can pay via exact cash or check (made out to Cherokee High School) at registration, or feel free to have your school bookkeeper send us a payment in the mail.

This is our tentative schedule:

Round 1 - 4:45pm - 5:45pm - preset prelim

Round 2 - 6:00pm - 7:00pm - preset prelim

Dinner - 7:00pm - 7:30pm $1.00 a slice pizza at concessions (free pizza and water for judges/coaches)

vending machines will be open for drinks and snacks

Round 3 - 7:30pm - 8:30pm - power matched prelim

Awards 9:00pm (1st, 2nd, 3rd places will be recognized with trophies)
