NYCUDL MSHS Tournament 5

Hello Coaches,

Executive Director Amisha Mody Mehta and staff of the NYCUDL invite you, your students, judges, and chaperones to attend the NYCUDL Open League Tournament #5. The tournament will be held at Midwood High School in Brooklyn (2839 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11210).

We are incredibly excited to bring you our fifth tournament of the season! This tournament is only open to NYCUDL league members. Information on league membership can be found here.


We offer the following Division Levels:

Middle School:

- Public Forum Novice

- Public Forum JV

- Public Forum Varsity

- Parliamentary Novice

- Parliamentary JV

- Parliamentary Varsity

High School:

- League Novice

- League JV

- League Varsity

- National Novice

- National JV

- National Varsity

Topics:

MS PF & HS League: Resolved: The United States federal government should adopt a carbon tax.

HS National: Resolved: The United States federal government should ban single-use plastics.

MS Parliamentary: This House believes that graphic depictions of violence in media are wrong.

Entry Caps:

Teams are allowed to bring up to 10 teams that would include 20 students in Public Forum and 30 students in Parliamentary.

To enter this tournament, your school must be a member of the NYCUDL. All requirements and fees can be found on our website. We require that an adult coach or sponsor complete the paperwork and function as the primary contact for the team and the league.

Permission Slips: Once your school has registered, have your students complete the permission slip form. That link can be found here.

Upon school entry, all teams will be placed on a waitlist. To be removed from the waitlist, the following criteria must be met.

•Your school must be a league member with completed paperwork.
•Students must have completed permission slips.
•You must have an adult who will be present for the day of the tournament.
•Your students must be linked on tabroom.com.
