Event Guidelines

If you have concerns about equity or a rules protest please come to the tabroom in the Lower School library and speak with Mr. Timmons.

Events:

Section A: Duet, DX, IX, HI, DI, PO

Section B: DUO, OO, INFO, POI, PR

Section C: VCX, NCX, VLD, NLD, PFD, NPFD, WSD, CON

Brackets will not be broken in VCX, VLD, PFD and WSD. We will attempt to break brackets in the novice division pending judge availability and the size of the varsity divisions.

Entry Rules:

1. Students may only enter one extemp event.

2. Students may enter up to three events in Section A and three events in Section B.

3. Students may only enter one event in Section C.

4. Students entered in Section C may only cross enter in Section B.

5. TFA rules for competition will be followed in all varsity events.

6. No cross entries will be allowed for those entered in VCX or NCX.

7. No cross entries will be allowed for those entered in Worlds Debate.

8. Brackets will not be broken in debate events.

9. All entries must be from a school that is accredited through a state, regional, or national organization. The tournament director has the final decision regarding this issue.

10. Hockaday will participate in this tournament.

Resolutions and Legislation:

We will use the November/December NSDA resolution for VLD and NLD.

We will use the November NSDA resolution for PFD and NPFD.

We will use the NSDA resolution for the 2024-254 school year for VCX debate.

We will use the NDCA Novice Packet for NCX.
