Judging Information

Judge Registration and Obligation Eligibility

Judge registration will be required at the time of school registration. Please see our updated judging requirements later in this invitation. Judges will be obligated to judge 1 round past their last student is eliminated or competes in their final round. Judges may be asked to judge any event, but we will try to accommodate event requests. Only adult judges will be counted towards a school’s judging obligation. We will be using Tabroom.com for balloting and tabulation, so please make sure judges bring a device that will facilitate writing comments (in other words, something besides a smartphone).

Judge Requirements and Uncovered Entries Judging Fees

For the 2024 Knight Invitational, the following judge requirements will be assessed:

1 judge will cover 4 entries. No more than 2 judges will be required to fully cover your obligation.

You may buy out your judging obligations at the same rate as what we will be paying our hired judges: $200 per judge owed. If you opt to buy out your complete judging obligation, you will not be pre-assigned any judging rounds, but will be considered an emergency standby judge. As such, any adult sponsors or chaperones will be required to have a Tabroom.com account.
