Varsity Information

  1. Buildings. Sever Hall will once again be the headquarters and the location for all food. We will have about 5-6 rounds in Emerson Hall (next door to Sever) and a couple of rounds in Boylston Hall (100 yds away) as well.

  2. Hybrid Debates in Varsity. About 10 teams are online in Varsity, and a decent number of judges. If one team is online, judges should use a designated room in Boylston.

  3. 3rd Place Round. As our 2024 experiment, we will invite the non-advancing teams from the Semifinals to compete for 3rd place during the finals time slot.

  4. Parking. For Saturday, you can buy a parking permit at the Broadway Lot from Harvard here: https://hopps.vpcs.harvard.edu/. For Sunday, you can park anywhere on the street.

  5. Dining Guide for Saturday is available here in the full tournament invitation

JV/Novice Information

We are looking forward to having all of you joining us at Suffolk University this weekend for the Novice and JV Divisions of the Harvard College Tournament. Just a few items of interest:

  1. Getting between campuses: The MBTA Red Line makes for an easy trip between campuses. If you are coming to or from the Suffolk campus, you should use the Park Street Station (which is less than a block from the Suffolk University Law School, Sargent Hall, which will be the primary Suffolk hub for the weekend.) From Park Street, Harvard Square is your fourth stop after Charles/MGH, Kendall/MIT, and Central. I made this trip a few weeks ago and once I was on the train, it was only about 10-12 minutes between Park Street and Harvard Square.

  2. Buildings. We are using two buildings for the Suffolk part of the tournament: Sargent Hall and Stahl/73. Sargent is the main hub and it is where food will be served on Saturday and Sunday. The buildings are across the street from each other.

    1. Sargent Hall: 110 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02108 (you may Google “Sargent Hall” and see 120 Tremont Street as the address…I know, it’s quirky. Needless to say, it’s the Law School and it has a big entrance and you won’t miss it.)

    2. The Stahl Building/73: 73 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02108

  3. Food: we will be serving a full breakfast on Saturday, a continental breakfast on Sunday, as well as lunch both days. Dinner on Sunday will be served at Harvard. Breakfast and lunch on Saturday will be on the first floor of Sargent Hall in The Keches Room (walk straight into the building and you will just go right back towards the room). On Sunday, we will be using the Smith Commons on the fifth floor of Sargent Hall. It is located in Room 5320.

  4. WIFI Information: The Network is SU_GUEST. The Username and Password is as follows: Username: shtournament Password: SHTguest2024

  5. Schedule: We will use the same round schedule to minimize any confusion. Rounds 1-4 will be on Saturday, rounds 5-6 will be on Sunday morning and then Tripp and I will decide if we are having elim rounds at Suffolk or at Harvard. If any/all elim debates move to Harvard, we will train over to the Harvard campus as a big group.
