The Corsicana ISD Department of Fine Arts & UIL Academics would like to formally invite you to our first EVER speech and debate invitational tournament! We are proud to present the 2024 edition of a Thrilling Tiger Thanksgiving at Corsicana HS!

This tournament will offer competitors 4 guaranteed rounds in debate events and three guaranteed rounds in individual speaking events. We are committed to offering a novice division in all of the events (as long as they "make") and are fully prepared to offer students the chance to compete in any of the NSDA Individual Event competitions. We have developed a schedule that encourages students to cross-enter in multiple events, and we will work hard to provide your squad with a great tournament experience!

JUDGING OBLIGATIONS:

Schools are obligated to provide judges for each of the speech/debate events that they enter students in. Judge obligations are generated with the following formulas:

CX Debate* - One judge required for every 2 teams (or portion thereof).

LD Debate* - One judge required for every 4 entries (or portion thereof).

Informative/Persuasive** - One judge required for every 8 entries (or portion thereof).

Prose/Poetry** - One judge required for every 8 entries (or portion thereof).

*Debate judges may only enter one pool. They may not fulfill any other obligations.Schools will be charged a fee of $150.00 for each missing debate judge.

**Individual Event judges MAY cover both Extemp and Interp obligations, but they MUST be available for all rounds of both contests. IE judges may not cover any Debate judging obligations. Schools will be charged a fee of $125.00 for each missing IE judge.

**Tournament staff reserves the right to reach out to participating schools to discuss moving judges from one pool to another in the event that a school takes up a majority of entries in a specific event category.**

Fees are generated with the following formulas:

School Custodial Fee - $30.00 per school

Individual Speech Events - $15.00 per entry

LD Debate - $25.00 per entry

CX Debate - $50.00 per entry

Missing Individual Speech Event Judge - $125.00 per judge

Missing Debate Event Judge - $150.00 per judge

**Please do not let the cost of entry/judge fees prohibit your students from attending our tournament. This is a fundraiser for our program, but we will do our absolute best to accommodate schools financial constraints as best as we can. Reach out to Aimee Kasprzyk if you have any questions.**
