2024 — NSDA Campus, TX/US

Salado High School Presents The Tournament that Teaches #1

Online October 5th, 2024

Welcome to the “Tournament That Teaches” for novice competitors. In the morning, novice students will participate in educational sessions conducted by some of the best instructors in the state and in the afternoon they will have “educational” rounds. Novice students will be provided with cases, briefs and other materials. NOTE: Due to the nature of it being a novice teaching tournament ALL students in CX and LD will be required to use the files that we provide for those events.

Novice Files for CX and LD: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13HvoEB8Q-bpkJ8Am4ZO7tDjV5GnInNKJ?usp=sharing

(Files will be uploaded by September 14th) NOTE: Students are typically unable to access the files with a school email.

We will offer the following UIL speaking events: CX, LD, Extemp and Congress. These tournaments are intended for schools or teams that prefer "UIL style" forensics.

We will be using tabroom for registration, balloting and communication. We will use the NSDA campus for virtual rounds. It is imperative you check your emails for tabroom updates, that is how we will send out information regarding the tournament leading up and the day of.

For information on how to make a tabroom account check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyTqMwhRJpo

For information on how to register for the tournament after creating an account is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rc3pdZi5WXM

Keep in mind students will need to have their own tabroom account created and linked to the school/institution they attend and an email address attached/linked to their account.

NOTE TECH REQUIREMENTS: You need to make sure your tech department reviews this entire page to open the proper gateways to allow for competition to occur if you are competing at a school. Failure to do so will result you in not being able to participate and we will be unable to refund your money. https://www.speechanddebate.org/campus-tech/
