Tarleton State University Invitational Meet

The Tarleton State University Mathematics Department invites you to join us on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 to the annual Academic Invitational UIL Meet. We will offer all academic events from UIL Set B Materials. Hands-on portion of the Computer Science contest will be available depending on interest. We look forward to hosting your team to a day of great food and FRIENDLY competition!

ACADEMIC EVENTS:

Competitors in Number Sense, Calculator, Mathematics, and Science will be broken into 9th/10th and 11th/12th grade divisions. Top scorer awards and sweepstakes points will be awarded for overall teams.

Writing events will take place in a computer lab. Students may opt to handwrite or utilize their own laptops/printers if they prefer.

We are offering UNLIMITED entries for this meet!

Spelling and Vocabulary will be taken as a WRITTEN test at this meet. We will utilize a live pronouncer.

SPEECH/DEBATE EVENTS:

Our tournament will not be offering any speech/debate events this year.

FEES:

THIS EVENT IS A MAJOR FUNDRAISER FOR OUR STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS. WE DO NOT, HOWEVER, WANT THE COST OF ENTRY TO PROHIBIT ANY SCHOOL OR STUDENT FROM PARTICIPATING. IF COST IS AN ISSUE FOR YOU, PLEASE CONTACT COURTNEY HOLLAND TO SEE IF WE CAN WORK OUT AN ARRANGEMENT. (I'M SURE WE CAN.)

The fee formula is as follows:

Academic Event - $10.00 per entry

Missing High Needs Academic Judge - $75.00 per judge

**Any school who has not completed the payment process after 30 days of the tournament is subject to a $100.00 late fee.**

JUDGING REQUIREMENTS:

High Needs Academic Event** - 1 judge for every 3 entries or portion thereof

**The following events are considered HIGH NEEDS: Ready Writing, Computer Applications, Journalism. We ask that schools bring judges for any academic event that they have entries in, but we desperately need judges in these events in order to ensure that the tournament runs on time.

MEALS:

There is a food court on campus within walking distance that will have food available for purchase for students, a hospitality room will be provided for coaches/judges!
