Sequoyah's Autumn Argument is in-person on Saturday, October 26th! **new date**

We offer a variety of debate and speech events for high school competitors.

No middle school events offered this year.

In the debate category, we will offer Novice, JV, and Varsity Policy Debate; Novice and Varsity Lincoln Douglas Debate; and Novice and Varsity Public Forum Debate. All resolutions are set by the NSDA and can be referenced on its TOPICS page. Please note, novice LD debate will NOT use the novice topic on national service but instead debate the current Sept/Oct LD resolution.

In the speech category, the following events will be offered to high school competitors: Dramatic Interp, Humorous Interp, Duo Interp, Program of Oral Interp, Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Impromptu.

New this year! Congressional Debate will be offered!

SCHEDULE:

Registration for the tournament will take place available at 7:30am. All schools are asked to check in with the tournament by 8:00am. The posted schedule below is based on how events have run in years past. All speech and debate rounds will start at 8:30am. When possible, the schedule will be accelerated to end the tournament as early as possible so the awards ceremony can happen and schools that have traveled far have ample time to get back home. Schools are cautioned to NOT leave Sequoyah in search of food; this may result in a forfeit of a round. Concessions and lunch will be available for students to purchase in the cafeteria, and there will be a hospitality lounge in the media center for coaches and judges.
