World Schools Debate Info

La Costa Canyon World Schools Debate

World Schools Debate at La Costa Canyon 2024 is being run as a supplemental event! This means that if you have competitors who do not advance to elimination rounds in their events, they can still participate in the competition on Sunday.

Motions

Rounds 1, 2, and 5 will use prepared motions; Rounds 3 and 4 will be impromptu motion rounds (with motions announced 1 hour prior to the round start time).

Rounds 1 & 2 (debaters switch sides): "This House supports the prioritization of the humanities over STEM in public education."

Round 5: "This House would ban the use of solitary confinement in prisons."
