Dear Congressional Debate Coach,

Lyons Township High School invites you and your debaters to ICDA IV on Saturday December 7, 2024. Varsity and Junior Varsity debaters will compete in a three-session tournament.

Location: Lyons Township High School North Campus

100 s Brainard Ave, LaGrange, IL 60526

(LT is a split campus school… the tournament is at the north campus)

Legislation Deadline: Legislation for ICDA 5 is due on 12/2/24 @ 9am. This is earlier then team registration to insure we have enough time to prep the ballot and vote on bills for the next tournament, so please upload your legislation ASAP.

Parking/Drop Off: The parking lot is on Cossitt Avenue across from the main building. Teams should cross the street and enter at the bell tower entrance on Cossitt. Busses may also drop off students on Park street which is the west side of the school. Busses should park in the lot and not remain on Park street. Once in the building, students should take stairs down to the basement and follow signs to the student cafeteria and coaches should go up one flight of stairs to the registration table in the lobby of the library. The coaches lounge will be in the basement of the library.

Legislation: Legislation for ICDA IV was emailed to coaches on November 9. If any team is in need of the legislation please email – tswiontek@lths.net

Entry Deadline: All entries are due by 5pm on Monday December 2nd. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday it was decided to provide additional time as a convenience to coaches and debaters.

Tournament Fee: The entry fee is $10 per student. This is based on your original entry. TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION checks should be made payable to:

Schedule: Registration 7:15-7:45am

Judge meeting 8:00-8:15am

Session 1 8:15-10:30am

Break 10:30-11:00am

Session 2 11:00-1:15pm

Lunch 1:15-2:00pm

Session 3 2:00-4:15pm

Elections/Awards ASAP

Judging: Each school is required to provide one judge for each session for every 9 entries. The number of entries includes all students from your school entered in the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels of the tournament. The number of judges you are responsible for is based on the original entry; drops will not be considered while scheduling judges.

Food: A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided for coaches and judges. Pizza orders are due with your registration. A concession stand will also be available with drinks and snacks during the lunch break.
