Tournament Info

This tournament is primarily for Coppell Debate Academy students. It is open to others who understand and agree to the format and rules for this tournament:

There will be no formal set of event rules. TFA and NSDA will guide the conduct of the tournament but are not binding.

Students will debate entries from their own schools.

Rounds may be judged by any combination of Coppell HS students, parents, and judges provided by other teams. Judges will be assigned without regard to standing conflicts, and judges are expected to decide all rounds with the utmost fairness and objectivity.

Registration for CDA:

CDA families must register using the link emailed to parents.

After registering, students will be placed according to their respective event(s).

Events and teams (where needed) will be assigned in CDA classes.

General Information:

Students are welcome to attend regardless of experience level.

Lunch is provided for all participants.

Attire is business formal, but just do your best here. There's no need to buy new clothes.

Students will have the opportunity to watch additional rounds throughout the day but may depart upon elimination from the tournament.

Parents are welcome but not required to stay and observe.

Entry Fees & Judging:

Fee for participation is $50 per student.

High school students or adults may volunteer to judge in lieu of paying the $50 entry fee.

Certificates will be provided for the top 3 in each event.
