North Star High School Speech, Drama, and Debate Invite

North Star High School is extremely excited (and nervous) to invite you to our first Meet in forever, being held on January 11^th, 2025 in Rudyard, MT.

Being as this is a new-fangled hosting thingy—I am limiting registrations to those schools in our Northern Division. Registration can be done on tabroom at http://northstarinvite.tabroom.com. Preliminary registration will be opening up shortly. Due to space and the size of our little school, we may have to use some churches in the community to host a couple of events. If you are interested in attending our meet and are not in the Northern B/C, please do not register without reaching out to me to see if we have room for you. Most events will be limited to one section of 8 entries due to room availability, but I will consider opening a second section of some events if the need arises and we can find the space. Events with low numbers will be combined.

Check in on the 11^th will be from 7:30 a.m.-8:15 a.m. in the High School Office (towards the East end of the school).

There will be a $5.00 fee per slot filled and a $5.00 team fee.

The student area will be in the gymnasium, and we ask that everyone remove their shoes if they are on the gym floor and pick up their area afterwards. Awards will also be held in the gym as soon as possible after Final scores have been tallied.

There will be concessions available for the students and a full hospitality room will be available to coaches, judges, and drivers in the FCS room.

Rounds are planned for 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and Finals at 2:00 p.m. Extemp draw will be held a half-hour before each round. We will hold finals for all events as long as we have judges available. Any debate events with 3 or fewer entries will be a round robin competition with no finals.

We will be tabbing on computers in the Business Lab (on the stage) and will be using the “Sheets of the North.”

The Lincoln/Douglas Debate and Public Forum Debate will use the January/February topic.
