We are thrilled to host you for this year’s LBJ District Tournament, happening February 6-8th at Melissa High School from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day.

Schedule Highlights:

• Thursday, February 6th: Congressional Debate and Interpretation events.
• Friday, February 7th: Preliminary rounds for Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking.
• Saturday, February 8th: Final rounds for Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking.

Registration Details:

Congressional Legislation (Spring TFA Docket):

• Prelims: 20, 11, 1, 9
• Finals: 6, 16, 4, 8

Extemporaneous Categories:

• Domestic: (TBA)
• International: (TBA)

LD/PF Debate Topics:

• Lincoln-Douglas: Resolved: The United States ought to become party to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and/or the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
• Public Forum: Resolved: The African Union should grant diplomatic recognition to the Republic of Somaliland as an independent state.

Important:

• Registration closes January 31st—don’t miss the deadline!
• A $25 District Fee will be applied to all invoices to cover the cost of medals and the LBJ District photo in the NSDA booklet.
