Judge Rules

All Judges

(1) All judges must be 18+ in order to judge.

(2) We will accept a limited number of judges who are under 18 and are current competitors. They must be significantly experienced. Coaches can mark these judges when registering them on tabroom, and these judges can only cover obligations for students entered in JV or novice divisions of debate or speech.

(3) All online judges must have working technology to assure reliable and fast internet to ensure quality judging. For online judges, this include webcam, mic, video, and audio. This also includes a good and stable working environment (e.g. not while you are driving).

Policy

(1) In addition to everything under 'All Judges',

(2) All judges must be former or current national circuit policy competitors or coaches.

(3) Tab Ratings will be used.

(4) One judge is required for every two policy teams (or fraction thereof) because the tournament is single-flighted. Hired judging is available for $500 per judge if requested before October 23 at 11:55PM.

Public Forum / Lincoln Douglas

(1) In addition to everything under 'All Judges',

(2) Judge training will be provided to the judges before the tournament and will be on the ballot. We welcome parent judges.

(3) Tab Ratings will be used.

(4) One judge is required for every two LD/PF teams (or fraction thereof) because the tournament is single-flighted. Hired judging is available for $200 per judge for PF and $250 per judge for policy/LD if requested before April 23 at 11:55PM.

Speech

(1) In addition to everything under 'All Judges',

(2) Judge training will be provided to the judges before the tournament and will be on the ballot. We welcome parent judges.

(3) No strikes will be used.

(4) One judge is required for every four speech teams (or fraction thereof). Given sufficient judging, we may use two judges for some prelim rounds. Hired judging is available for $40 per uncovered entry if requested before October 23 at 11:55PM (updated).
