Hendrickson Swing

2023 — Austin, TX/US

Schedule

(A printable and cleaner version of the schedule can be found HERE)

The swing is a Kentucky TOC AND NIETOC bid for all IE and extemp events.

IE events (excluding extemp) will be handled as follows: Three prelim rounds will be scheduled for all competitors. For each round, students will have 2 judges - one for the PHS side and one for the HHS side. Ranks will be calculated independently and cumed by tournament. Because of this, all students doing IEs (except extemp) will be REQUIRED to enter on both sides of the tournament. Extemp will be treated as a traditional swing with 3 prelim rounds on each side.

Students will only be allowed to do 2 events in section A (including extemp) and no more than 3 events in section B. Debate is not a swing - just a traditional tournament. Debaters can ONLY enter Section A and Extemp on the PANTHER side of the tournament. Extempers wanting to participate in both sides of the bid tournaments may NOT cross-enter in debate.

Cross-Entry information
Please note that cross-entries happen at your own risk. This is a VERY tight schedule. If you enter a student in both sides of the swing AND you chose to cross-enter those students, then you have to be very clear with those students about how to do this successfully.

Students in debate may ONLY enter 2 IE events (that fit with their debate choice).
Students may only enter ONE extemp on each side of the swing.
Students in debate may ONLY enter extemp and Section A IEs on the PANTHER side of the swing only.
