hi. i am a freshman at Bronx Science debating PF.
add me to the email chain: croftc@bxscience.edu
Be kind.
-Signpost. please tell me where you are on the flow. if i cannot follow what you are referring to, the response will likely be lost.
-Weigh. make it as clear to me why your impacts outweigh. start comparatively weighing as soon as possible in the round
-Collapse. its much easier to vote when the round closely examines the best argument from each team.
-Extend. make sure to extend any arguments that you are going for.
-i do not flow cross, if you want me to flow something said in cross mention it in a speech
-no new evidence from 2nd summary and beyond. no new weighing in 2nd ff.
have fun
Plus 0.4 speaks for every time I laugh.

Hi my name is Edalene. I am a student judge. I did MS Public Forum for 2.
Some Other Notes:
I will be keeping time, but feel free to do so too.
Don’t bring up new information in the summary/ final focus
Weigh your argument. Why is what you said important? Why should I vote for you?
I will not judge based of crossfire, so if any important points were brought up mention them in your speech.
I appreciate signposting
Be respectful to one another
Bring through your argument to your final focus, otherwise I will consider it dropped and will not consider it towards your overall argument, even if th opponent never addresses it.
I am not going to judge based of speaking but please speak clearly and not too quickly so that I can understand.
Good luck and have fun!!

Hi, I am currently a sophomore at Bronx Science debating PF. I debated 3 years of Parli in middle school as well. Add me to the email chain jisaacs.pf@gmail.com
For PF: Plain and simple, be as interactive with your opponent's responses as possible. The more analysis of the round that you give me, the better. Weigh a lot, and not just saying "magnitude", but be analytical between the impacts (ex. we can't face a recession AND stop climate change, policymakers will prioritize pro-economic policies that are bad for the climate (i'd need more warranting than this obviously)). I really like link-ins, prereq, and meta-weighing. Please extend anything you deem important. Use all your time no matter what. Also, for NYCUDL debaters, please use your prep time.
+++++ speaks if you make me laugh

i used to be a middle school debater last year for 7th grade/8th grade, so i was pretty much in ur shoes and did not do so well. overall i got better from reading my case in the mirror and commend u for articulating ur words and especially in an online debate, there is a lot of technicalities. make sure to not spend all of ur time on the blocks and be on point. the words you have bolded in your case MUST be enunciated LOUDLY. i am completely uneducated on the case so fill my ears and embrace the debate, PLEASE do NOT discriminate and be a little humorous, i dont like monotonous debates that drain me all day, conversate with ur opponent while u are free because in the end, it doesen't matter who wins, it matters about having fun! good luck!
speaker points:
+.5 standing up
+.8 for timing ur other opponent
+1.2 flowing on paper (show me your flows after, full points will be given if its neat and has arrows/symbols)
flowing is taking notes of ur opponents speech.

hi! I have been competing PF for Hunter (Princeton Co-Champion, Harvard Quarterfinalist), and I competed Parli in middle school. My email is juliakraffczyk@hunterschools.org, if anyone wants to add me to their email chain or to send case.
GENERAL
- CLARITY > SPEED. I’m not a fan of spreading, but if you really need to, please send me a copy of your case!
- SIGNPOSTING and off-time roadmaps are greatly appreciated.
- Gov/aff can define terms, but if the framework prohibits opp/neg to win or strays from the resolution, I’ll vote neg.
- Make sure your LINK CHAIN is properly defended and the impact is believable (PFers: if you can’t adequately explain a link in cross, you should reiterate the warranting in a later speech)
- Theory and K’s are accepted, but I’ll always prefer an argument with solid, simple contentions.
- PLEASE don’t be rude (particularly during PF cross. Let everyone speak!) You don’t have to be BFFs with your opponents, but a great team will be able to win without disrespect.
REBUTTAL/WEIGHING
- If you don't frontline a refutation, it will flow through on my end, so EXTEND your best frontlines!
- For weighing, refrain from reading pre-written weighing and instead, interact with your opponents’ case. It is not particularly persuasive or applicable to the round if you don't.
PF SPECIFICS
- Tech > truth
- Collapse during Summary to cut your losses!
- Empirics are important, as well as warranting. Refrain from relying on cards that are just quotes from certain individuals: anyone can say anything.
- I won't judge cross but I will notice if you lack understanding of your link chain or cards.
- FF is a time for WEIGHING. I value this over restating refutations or collapsing (again).
- QUANTIFIED impacts with TIMEFRAME are key
Don’t be any type of -ist. GL and have fun! :)

Hello Debaters!
I'm Hailey, and I'm thrilled to be judging your round today. Although I do not have much experience in judging I hope I can learn more from this experience from our current debates today. Here are some tips and tricks to win my ballot and improve in the long run:
The Basis of How I Judge:
- Weighing Arguments: Keep your strongest points at the forefront throughout the round. I also enjoy it when you use specific powerful arguments that leave your opponents stumped, where they do not have a rebuttal for it.
- Clarity and Signposting: I prefer if you get straight to the point, not immediately, but building up to get there. Instead of just adding on unnecessary points that drag on your speech and making it repetitive.
- Cohesive Speeches: Treat your speeches like a collaborative essay. Ensure that your arguments and your partner's work together to build a compelling case that win over your judge, and it's best if you understand the topic clearly to the point where you're able to write about it on your own.
Miscellaneous Tips:
- Speaking Speed: I'm fine with any speed, but ensure your articulation is clear. Emphasize important phrases to make your arguments stand out and not speaking too fast where I can't word out what you're saying, confidently speak up while also fitting within the timeframe.
- Citing Evidence: I don't necessarily flow your evidence or citations I just briefly copy it down if I'm able to understand what it means, but it's essential to cite your sources so I can distinguish between claims and evidence.
- Truth vs. Tech:I don't have any specific preferences on your utilization of truth & tech but I do like to see both being used throughout your debate and speeches. Truth is when your prioritize arguments that are backed up with evidence and factual while tech is prioritizing your argument structure or strategics used in debate.
- Flowing in Crossfire/Final Focus: While I may not always flow content during crossfire or final focus, ensure your key arguments are clear and impactful.
Suggestions:
- Use Prep Time Wisely: Making the most of your prep time is the most effective way in ensuring the debate is successful for you and your partner even if you don't win, make sure to converse with your partner and try to understand what they're saying and predict what the opposing team may say or rebut.
- Confidence and Respect: Don't apologize for brief pauses; instead, move forward confidently. Maintaining a respectful attitude towards your opponent for a positive debate environment, eye contact and projecting are also important.
- Building Connections with other debaters.
Good Luck! I'm eager to hear your arguments and provide feedback. Best of luck, and let's have a great round!

(TL;DR I am a tech judge, not a huge ran of theory or k and please extend properly if you want an argument evaluated in the round)
Hi! I am Steven (he/him) and I am a current Junior Varsity PF debater at Brooklyn Tech.
Add me to the email chain: slinkh5657@bths.edu
If you send speech docs with fully cut cards (for constructive and rebuttal) to minimize calling cards time (and add me to the email chain), +1 speaks
Here are just some of my preferences:
General
I am a tech > truth judge 99% of the time, which means that I flow everything throughout the round, even if I know it isn't true.
Please don't spread. I can handle a little speed, but not too fast, or else that will probably impact your speaks. Just speak thoroughly and clearly and you'll be happy with your speaks.
Don't worry, I will not flow crossfire, unless something that occurred in crossfire gets brought up in another speech. The only time I'll flow cross is if there is something I didn't get when flowing and its a clarifying question.
If you want a pic of my flow just ask after the round ends and I'll be more than happy to send it to you.
Please use all of your speech time, that's extremely important.
I'm fine with Identity K's: if you run a queer rage k or a queer surveillance k and win on the k you get an auto 30
Constructive
- HAVE IMPACTS!!!
- Please don't run prog arguments - I'm not super familiar with them, with the exception of a Cap K. Also if your going to run theory, be VERY CLEAR about it, because I'm not super duper familiar with that either
- I'm fine with Frameworks - I've ran them a buncha times. If there is no framework or your framework isn't extended throughout the round, I default to utilitarianism, the most good for the most number of people
Rebuttal
- Signpost please
- Give me an off-time roadmap from here on forward, because it helps me as a judge. The second thing I love after signposting is off-time roadmaps and if you do them, you'll get good speaks. (If you don't know what this is just ask me before the round and I can tell you/teach you how to do one)
- For second rebuttal speaker, I would suggest sticking to frontlining -> refuting, but whatever works for you, just please signpost
Summary
- Extend your points from Constructive and Rebuttal otherwise it doesn't make it onto the flow and doesn't factor into my decision
- I'd prefer you collapse, just to make the round less messy and to give you more time in final focus to weigh (this is just something I like to do - I really highly suggest it)
- This is the latest in the round to start impact weighing. If you don't I will be very, very sad.
Final Focus
- Really, just tell me why you won the round
- Write my RFD for me and make sure to do impact weighing
Be respectful of your opponents and have fun in the debate round. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them. Also, if you make me laugh or make a minions reference, +1 speaks. Also if you reference the movie up + .5 speaks.
Last thing, I enjoy a great clash on arguments throughout the round. If there is a lot of clash, I will give high speaks to everyone in the debate round. Have fun and if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask me, because after all, this is all a learning experience.

hi.
im prisha and i've been doing PF for about 4 years now
you can speak fast if you'd like but please keep it in moderation. its not that cool to speak fast anyway
FOR PF:
add me to the email chain for cards: prishavora@gmail.com
please please please weigh and extend your arguments or else I cannot vote for them
things that will get you 30 speaks (your speeches also have to good)
- make a reference to formula 1 in any speech
- flow with a sharpie
things I don't tolerate: just like all other judges, under any circumstances do not be racist, sexist, etc.
please DONT
- dont do offtime roadmaps
- dont spend a crazy amount of time sending cards
just a heads up I do not flow cross but I do listen and will note if anything very major happens like if someone contradicts their own argument. also I do like heated crossfire but please be respectful. push yourself to ask questions that point out flaws in your opponents case. don't ask questions that don't help the debate or move it forward.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me why you win the debate and why your opponents don't or else you give me more of a decision to make which might not favor you at the end of the day.
if you have any question about my reason for decision or if you want any personal feedback please ask during round, but in any case if anything comes up after the rounds you can email me @: prishavora@gmail.com

tech > truth
yange4@bxscience.edu
- defense isn’t sticky, remember to extend it through your speeches
- extend/collapse and weigh
- before every speech, provide a brief off-time roadmap
- if u want me to evaluate cross, bring it up in the next speech
- summary is where you lose and win, so tell me why you win and do the comparative for me
- dont spread, dont be racist, sexist, homophobic, etc.
- be nice in cx

ld debater @ stuyvesant
i eval any args with warrants, tech > truth <3
speed = good, send docs if spreading
PLEASE dont make a blippy one sentence argument and expect it to be flowed, i can be kind of slow sometimes so if you're saying "we outweigh on magnitude" and that's it without spending at least another 10 seconds warranting it, im probably not voting on it.
i don't flow cross but aggressive cxers will earn higher speaks
my pet peeves:
- not keeping ur own time
- not signposting. please tell me where you are on the flow
- starting speeches off with introducing yourselves, please just do a "we negate/affirm"
+0.5 speaks if u do a 360 everytime you say "turn"

Hey! I’m currently a freshmen at Stuyvesant who did MS UDL PF debate for two years with Twain before. I currently still do PF(some of my accolades include MDL Champ, Harvard Quarterfinals, Ridge Octofinals etc.)
How I will be evaluating the round:
WEIGHING(it is so important please weigh in summary and final focus)
Bonus speaks for COMPARATIVE weighing
generally tech > truth(win on the flow plsss)
be convincing in your tone and speaking as well(cross will be flowed*)
*however, they will not factor into win/loss, but they will be a factor in speaks
dont be mean plz
and yeah.. Most importantly, ENJOY THE ROUND!
ALSO if you guys have any questions about hs pf debate or just stuy in general, you can just ask me in round or email me:ezheng72@stuy.edu
P.S. HOW to get EXTRA SPEAKS! (Really only one thing)
(+0.5 speaks?) 1.Tell me a paragraph about any of the five people below:
Ethan Shi, Adrien Devery-Michaelson, Mufei Yu, Gavin Vincent, Alexis Qian
