Duo Interpretation
Event Description:
This is a two person-category in which the selection may be of a humorous or dramatic nature. Each of the two performers may perform multiple characters so long as the performance remains balanced between the two contestants. No props or costumes may be used. Focus between both performers may be direct during the introduction (They may touch each other) but focus must be indirect (offstage) during the performance. Performers may not touch one another except in the intro.
Memorized.
Offstage Focus required – (except in the introduction).
10 minutes maximum (with 30 second grace) which includes an introduction with title and author.
Play, Prose, or Poetry.
Movement is allowed.
Contestants may not use literature they performed prior to the 2023-2024 season.
