Panhandling

Event Description:

Panhandling allows students to fine-tune their persuasive skills by begging the audience for money. Competing students should use a creative or engaging "pitch," which may include creative storytelling (explaining why they need the money), a performance (musical number on a small, portable instrument brought by them to the tournament), dance, art (typically on a hand-held cardboard sign), or any combination of such pitches. Time may not exceed 3 minutes. Simple props may be used. The winning student will receive a wadded-up $20 bill from the tournament host during the awards ceremony.
