Event Description:

NOVICE POLICY DEBATE TOPIC: Resolved: The United States federal government should significantly strengthen its protection of domestic intellectual property rights in copyrights, patents, and/or trademarks.

While our plan is to run both Novice and Varsity Policy Debate as separate events, if the entry numbers do not warrant, we will have to collapse and that will limit the Varsity debaters to using the Novice Evidence Packet in order to maintain equity.

For the sake of the education of all novices, we mandate that Novice Debaters limit their arguments to those from the NDCA's Novice Packet.

While AIA Tournament Rules will be the foundation for the operation of this tournament, please be advised that they will not apply in all situations. We have clearly noted any diversions from the AIA rules in the event information section. Most event rules align with the NSDA.
