Panel Discussion
Event Description:
Students sit in a circle to discuss a different topic each round. Emphasis should be placed on problem-solving through engaging presentation of ideas, civil discourse, and unique perspectives, not necessarily group consensus. Students discuss a topic for 35 minutes. As of October 4, 2019, students may bring notes on an 8 1/2 x 11-inch piece of paper (one-sided) for each topic. Students are limited to a one-minute introduction which they should introduce themselves and a thesis based on their analysis of the problem.
Panel Topics are:
-
How should Idaho change the way it funds public education infrastructure?
-
How can Idaho balance water supply concerns while protecting agricultural interests?
-
Is/was Idaho’s Proposition 1 for Ranked Choice voting a good idea?
- In light of natural disasters like Hurricane Helene, how can our country better provide relief for those suffering from Natural Disasters?
