Lamar Texan Classic TFA and Speech TOC

2021 — NSDA Campus, TX/US

The Lamar Speech & Debate team welcomes you to the Lamar Texan Classic 2020 this year on January 28th through 30th, 2020. We are proud to serve as a Texas Forensic Association Invitational Qualifying Tournament and are committed to a quality tournament experience for students, coaches, and judges. As in past years, we will offer multiple sections for entries and a competitive experience for all contestants.

Asynchronous event video links must be submitted no later than 1/25/2021 at 5:00 pm; preliminary rounds of the asynchronous events will be judged Wednesday, 1/27, with semifinals rounds held on Thursday, 1/28 and finals held on Friday, 1/29.

Attention Parents, Judges, and Volunteers:
We must ensure that all our judges, both paid and volunteer, are background-checked through VIPS (our background check system). This must be completed each year, regardless if you’ve completed VIPS in previous years. HISD volunteers are exempt from the background check requirement.

This requires two steps:
(1) Orientation Training (https://www.houstonisdpsd.org/dmol/VIPS/index.html#/)
(2) Background Check Application (https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/NjcyOmVuLVVT)

Volunteer judges may sign-up here: https://forms.gle/QBtpsy3B4iCCarZL8

We are thrilled to have Ryan Nassif in our tabroom and Chellie Martinez as our judge coordinator. For questions regarding judging, please contact Chellie by email at chellie.martinez@gmail.comWe are currently not accepting anymore contract judges.

Please see the published invitation for further details and event specific information.
