***Please understand that we may have some things set up incorrectly in Tabroom. If you are trying to enter and run into a problem, please email Christopher Dickson (email below) and he will work on fixing it. We appreciate your grace and patience as we adjust to a new way of doing things!
Colleagues,
Thank you for your interest in the 2021 Hallsville Tournament of Hearts UIL Academic and TFA Invitational Qualifying Tournament. UIL Academics will use a separate entry, registration and fee system. For all information related to the virtual UIL Academic Meet portion of this tournament, please click here or on the link on the right side of this page. Tabroom will be used for all speech and debate events.
For Speech & Debate: We are excited to venture into the world of online tournaments this year. All individual events (sans extemporaneous speaking) will be asynchronous. Video links will need to be submitted on Tabroom.com by Tuesday, February 9, 2021 by 9pm. Asynchronous prelims rounds will run on Wednesday and all ballots assigned due by Wednesday at 6pm. Semifinals will be asynchronous on Thursday, with ballots due by 6pm. Finals will be judged on Friday, with ballots due at 6pm. Congressional Debate will begin and end on Wednesday. Extemporaneous speaking will begin and end on Thursday. Debate will begin on Friday and end early on Saturday. We are excited to offer every TFA speech and debate contest (sans World Schools), UIL Prose, and UIL Poetry.
We will also be offering UIL LD Debate in addition to TFA LD Debate. Students will be able to enter both. I think you will find the schedule accommodating. Additionally, the schedule allows those students that qualified to UIL State Congressional Debate to be able to compete in this tournament without conflict with State travel.
This will be the last weekend to earn TFA qualifying points. Please see complete schedule below or feel free to click the link in the right column. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions or concerns.
Our students and I look forward to hosting you!
Sincerely,
Mike Clay
