The 2022 MLK Invitational will be virtual.

The James Logan MLK Invitational has one high school division and is a Varsity level tournament. Please enter your students who are competing in Varsity categories of their event. We cannot accept any Independent entries. Academies are welcome to attend, as long as students are tied to an organization with a responsible adult!

We are pleased to introduce a Middle School Division at this year's competition! Middle School competition will run as a separate division and events are leveled as "MS".

FORMAT

All events will be synchronous competition. Competitors will be expected to participate live via NSDA Campus. 

REGISTRATION

Registration is currently open for Coaches to reserve "TBA" entry spots in all events. 

We are starting registration with the following Entry Limits:

All Debate events - 7 entries per team per event
All Speech events - 15 entries per team per event
Congress - 15 entries per team

JUDGE BURDEN

Debate - 1 judge : 2 entries (we would like to single-flight rounds to allow for cross-entry)
Speech - 1 judge : 5 entries
Congress - 1 judge : 7 entries

DATES & DEADLINES 

Friday, December 17, 2021 

• Please input competitors names into Tabroom by this date to be cleared off the waitlist.

• We will not accept “TBA” entries into the tournament.  

Friday, January 7, 2022 -- extended deadline!

• Registration deadline for all events is due by 5:00 PM PST. 

• TBA slots will be dropped beyond this point. 

• This is also the deadline to request hired judges. 

• ALL FEES WILL BE FROZEN ON THIS DATE.

Friday, January 7, 2022 

• All registration payments must be RECEIVED no later than this date. 

• The DROP DEADLINE for this year’s tournament by 5:00 PM PST.

• JUDGE entry deadline by 11:55 PM PST.  

• Any drops made after this deadline will incur the full registration fee for that event. 

Monday, January 10, 2022 

• Waitlisted entries to the tournament will be cleared by this date and coaches will be contacted. Teams not cleared by this date will have little chance of being entered into the tournament.
