Space City Swing NIETOC TFA Invitational

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that the we here at Langham Creek & Cypress Woods HS extend an invitation to you and your team to attend the 2023 Space City Swing, hosted at Langham Creek High School this February 3rd – 4th, 2023. We will be a TFA qualifying tournament for all TFA events AND the Langham Creek side of the tournament has been selected to be a NIETOC qualifier! Space will be LIMITED, so please register EARLY! This is a great opportunity to get those last-minute state points!

Our tournament will feature one of the best tabrooms in the state lead by Ryan Hennessey, Perry Beard, Eric Beane and Jacob Koshak.

We will be utilizing Tabroom.com for our registration mechanism and ALL EVENTS will be held Face-To-Face at Langham Creek High School.

Please Review your JUDGING OBLIGATION.

ENTRY RESTRICTIONS: The only schools that may enter this tournament are high school (or junior high school) programs that are accredited diploma-awarding institutions. No enrichment schools or programs have standing to enter our tournament. You must be attending a high school (or junior high school) and entering as a representative of that school with an official school sponsor present to compete at this tournament.

Novice / Junior Varsity Competitor for our tournament is defined as a competitor that is in their first year of competition in either speech or debate.

In DEBATE Divisions we will offer FIVE (5) Preliminary Rounds in Varsity Cross-Examination Debate, FOUR (4) Preliminary Rounds in all other Varsity & JV Debate Divisions. We will NOT break brackets in debate.

In SPEECH Divisions, we will offer ONE (1) Preliminary Round in ALL Divisions.

Please nominate a deserving coach for our annual Coaching Award! Details can be found on the right-hand navigation panel under “Coaching Award”.

The Space City Swing will have great trophies for students placing through 3rd in their events. You won't want to miss it!

2023 Space City Round Robin – We are happy to announce that we will be hosting an invitation only policy debate round robin the day (Thursday) before the tournament. It will be a HYBRID event, so you may choose to compete on the Langham Creek campus, or virtually. *NOTE* If you are out of state and interested in attending, we are happy to work with you on waiving tournament fees to make sure your team can make it!
