On behalf of the faculty, staff, students, parents, and the Montgomery Academy Speech & Debate Team, we would like to welcome you and your students to The Big GUMP Classic.

This will be an in-person tournament on the campus of Montgomery Academy located in Montgomery, Alabama. We will offer you and your students competition in the following events:

Our schedule will accommodate students who may enter Public Forum Debate/Big Questions Debate & Congressional Debate as they will occur at different times. Students may enter up to 2 Individual Events and Congress as they will occur at different times. Students may NOT enter Public Forum and Individual Events. We will have an appropriate number of Chambers in Congress according to the entries.Over the last 2 years we have had 4 Chambers of Congress each year.

Come to the city that has the Equal Justice Initiative’s Legacy Museum, the Rosa Parks Museum, the Hank Williams Sr. Museum, and the Zelda & F. Scott Fitzgerald Museum. Montgomery is the birthplace of both the Civil War and the Civil Rights Movement, home to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Air War College of the United States Air Force, and Minor League Baseball’s Team, the Montgomery Biscuits.
