Collogues, competitors, and community members –

You are invited to the first (and ideally last) ever Maroon Maelstrom, September 30^th at Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines. The Maelstrom is intended to serve as the kick-off for the Iowa speech and debate season, replacing the canceled-for-one-year-only-we-promise Simpson Storm. The goal of the Maelstrom is to jump start the season with some quality competition for our returning students and a fun atmosphere that inspires our novice competitors to stick with the activity!

Competition

The Maelstrom will offer competition in all Iowa speech and debate events, splitting between novice and varsity divisions in debate and potentially splitting divisions in speech if entry numbers allow.
