Entry Qualifications

All dues-paying member schools are eligible to send 8th-12th grade students to the Supplemental State Championship. There is no official qualification metric to qualify for an event. For a full breakdown of eligibility rules for this tournament, you can read the Constitution & By Laws.

Judging Qualifications

Schools will owe 1 round of judging for every 1 entries. Judges must be adults as this is a state championship event. This is your preliminary round commitment and does not include a elimination round placement. For example, if you have 9 entries - you will owe 6 rounds of judging. Each person can cover up to 5 preliminary rounds of judging. It is important to understand that each round of judging will require about one hour fifteen minutes of watching students and providing feedback. We recommend that each judge fulfill 2 or 3 rounds, but do not want to limit it in case you have folks who can judge more.

In an effort to produce high quality feedback, judges will have 48+ hours to adjudicate rounds from students. We ask that schools enter head coaches and qualified judges (or alumni) to help judge rounds.

If you would like to hire judging, you can hire for $20/round.

Guidelines for Canceling Divisions

The GFCA will cancel an event if there are fewer than six entries and/or fewer than three schools when registration closes.
